Our Location

Donnybrook, Dublin 4 is a vibrant little village on the outskirts of Dublin City Centre. It hosts an array of pubs, restaurants and shops along with the popular Herbert Park. Herbert Park is a beautiful park where you can find different events, markets on a Sunday and a quirky little coffee shop nestled in the trees, a great spot to sit and watch the world go by. We are located around 20 minutes walk from Dublin city or a 5 minute bus ride. Known for its chic nature and air of tranquility, Donnybrook is fast becoming one of the more popular areas for visitors to Dublin as it is close enough to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city during the day and still be able to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep each evening.

Did you know that Donnybrook (Domhnach Broc) got its name from the infamous Donnybrook Fair markets that took place between 1204 and 1855. The markets were originally intended for traders however it became more of a carnival and stomping grounds for drinking and fighting hence the reasons it was shut down. If you look up the word Donnybrook Fair in the English dictionary you will see that it means a fight or a brawl and was given this meaning in association with the fair.

You can find a painting of the Donnybrook Fair on display in the National Gallery of Ireland.
