Donnybrook’s main shopping street is a two minute walk – just far enough away so that traffic noises don’t intrude. Within a three minute walk there are half a dozen restaurants and two pubs – everything from fine dining to Asian, carvery to hamburgers. Markets, chemists, fruit and news stands are all located in the thriving commercial area.

You can walk into the city centre since the lovely stroll takes only about 20 minutes. Simply head out along Donnybrook Road and follow it to Saint Stephen’s Green. Along the way, you pass some of Dublin’s most beautiful and prestigious addresses. It’s a great way to get a feel for the city away from the hubbub of the commercial centre.

The Royal Dublin Showgrounds is the centre of Ireland’s equestrian world during Horse Show in August. Throughout the year it serves as Dublin’s main exhibition hall and convention centre. Donnybrook Hall is conveniently close to the RDS hall.
