Donnybrook Halls Brown Bread Recipe October 1, 2014 • By terry • Posted in Uncategorized • No Comments Yummy Brown Bread 16 ozs wholemeal flour 8 ozs plain white flour 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp salt 1 pint buttermilk Put wholemeal flour in a mixing bowl, sieve in white flour and add salt and baking soda. Make a hole in centre of mix and add milk Mix untill its a soft dough. Grease 1lb baking tin and pour in mix spread mix evenly in tin, with a knife make a cross into dough and lightly sprinkle with white flour. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. When you take it out of tin tap on the bottom of bread to make sure it has a hollow sound. When you take it out of oven place it into clean tea towel untill cool.
