Dublin city is busier than ever and welcoming the St Stephens Green markets just beside the Grafton street entrance to the Park.

With more than 60 trade concessions located in traditional wooden chalets the Market will offer a unique selection of quality Irish made handcrafted gift items, including accessories, woodcrafts, jams and preserves and prints as well as seasonal food and drinks to include charcoal grills, crepes, bratwurst, chocolate fountain, artisan popcorn, Gluhwein as well as other seasonal non-alcoholic drinks.

The market will be free to the public and will open daily from 12 noon to 8pm.


Donnybrook Halls Brown Bread Recipe

Yummy Brown Bread

16 ozs wholemeal flour

8 ozs plain white flour

2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp salt

1 pint buttermilk

Put wholemeal flour in a mixing bowl, sieve in white flour and add salt and baking soda.
Make a hole in centre of mix and add milk
Mix untill its a soft dough.
Grease 1lb baking tin and pour in mix
spread mix evenly in tin, with a knife make a cross into dough and lightly sprinkle with white flour.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
When you take it out of tin tap on the bottom of bread to make sure it has a hollow sound.
When you take it out of oven place it into clean tea towel untill cool.

Donnybrook Halls’ Irish Fruit Scones Recipe

55 grams of Butter
225 grams of Self raising flour
1 tsp of Baking powder
1 oz of Caster Sugar (optional)
Half tsp Salt
150 ml Buttermilk
1 Egg

Heat the oven to 400f/200c

Sieve flour into a bowl

Add butter, baking powder and salt

Rub butter into flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs

Add sugar and fruit of your vhoice and stir

Make a hole in centre of the dough and pour in your milk

Mix together into soft dough

Sprinkle flour onto baking board and knead

Roll out the dough to 2 cm thick

Use your scone cutter to cut dough into shape

Place into a preheated oven for 15/20 minutes

Bake and Enjoy
